Deaf-Blindness

National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders has information for educators as well as student activities.

Handspeak offers American Sign Language (ASL) online dictionary and lessons, plus additional resources: Baby Sign, International Sign Language, Emoticon + Bodicon (facial expression + body language), gestures, manual alphabet (fingerspelling) and numeral, Sign stories and arts.

A Resource Guide to Support Classroom Teachers from the Government of British Columbia's Ministry of Education has information on classroom adaptations, technology, and tips for dealing with a range of issues related to deafness and hearing loss. 

Sharing Ideas from Gallaudet University Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center offers this paper and associated resources titled "Creating a Multicultural School Climate for Deaf Children and Their Families."

Keys to English Print, a feature article from Odyssey, a publication of Gallaudet University, presents some of the philosophies, techniques, and innovative strategies that are used throughout the United States to enable deaf children to develop literacy skills.
