Tom DeLozier is the Director of Bands for Maryville High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in instrumental music from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Mr DeLozier’s primary instrument was the tuba while a member of the Pride of the Southland Band. He also served as the Drum Major of the “Pride” for three years. He has been the director at Maryville since the fall of 1991 and served previously at Hillwood High School in Nashville. Mr DeLozier has a master’s degree in Administration and Supervision and is an active member of MENC, TBA, NBA, and ETSBO&A.
Bill Burke is the Band Director at Maryville Middle School. He began his tenure at Maryville in the fall of 2003. Previously he taught at Bearden Middle School in Knoxville, TN. A native of Chattanooga, Mr. Burke earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with tuba as his primary instrument. Bill Burke is a member of ETSBO&A, MENC, and NBA.
George Hayden is the Band Director at the Maryville Intermediate School and assistant at Maryville High School. Mr. Hayden is a graduate of University of Tennessee, Knoxville where his primary instrument was trumpet. Mr. Hayden is an active member of ETSBO&A, MENC, TSSBDA, and NBA.

Ms. Leza Dege-Carver - ColorGuard
Leza Dege-Carver supports the Red Rebel Band as one of the Color Guard Instructor, a position she has held part time since the fall of 2001 and full time starting in winter of 2003. Mrs. Dege-Carver is an alumni of MHS where she was a member of the Red Rebel Band and a Color Guard Captain. Mrs. Dege-Carver attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she was a member and color guard performer, and color guard tech in The Marching Mocs. Mrs. Dege-Carver has worked with several high school color guards since 1998 and is now currently working with Maryville High School and Heritage High School. Mrs. Dege-Carver was a founding member and program director of INTENSITY Winter Guard from 2001-2003. Mrs. Dege-Carver's newest endeavor is the program director of FUEL Winter Guard. An Independent class A winter guard based out of Maryville, TN.

Mr. Jay Romines - Saxaphone
Jay Romines received his Bachelor of Science in Instrumental Music from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Music in Saxophone performance from Indiana University, and is currently pending his Doctorate of Music from Indiana University. He is currently Director of Bands at Sacred Heart Catholic Schools in Knoxville. He also teaches private saxophone lessons. Mr. Romines has been a Director of Bands at Punahou HS, Hawaii; Virgil J. Grissom HS, AL; Associate Director of Bands at UT, and Associate Instructor of bands at Indiana University. Mr. Romines has also performed with the Knoxville Symphony and the Honolulu Symphony. He is a member of ETSBOA, TMEA, North American Saxophone Alliance, World Saxophone Congress, and the Saxophone Journal.
Ms. Roann Romines - Clarinet
RoAnn Romines received a Bachelor of Music in instrumental music from MTSU and a Master of Music Education from Indiana University. She is currently employed at Maryville Intermediate School as Assistant Director of Band. She also teaches clarinet lessons privately. Mrs. Romines has been a music director at St. Mary’s School, Oak Ridge, TN; James Pace HS, Brownsville, TX; Thomas Edison HS, San Antonio, TX; and Giessen HS, West Germany as well as assistant at Thomas Edison HS, TX: Carol Morgan Private School, Santo Domingo; and MTSU Band of Blue assistant instructor. She has also been a clarinet instructor at Maryville College, TN; Clark HS, TX; Frankfort Hochschule, West Germany; and a field instructor for Phantom Regiment Drum Corps. She is an active member of Delta Omicron, Music Educators National Conference, British Society for Music Education, Texas Music Ed Assoc., International Clarinet Society, and Band Journal.
Mr. Shaun Schuetz - Percussion
Shaun Schuetz assists the Red Rebel Band as the Percussion Instructor for the Band's Battery and Sideline percussion sections. Mr. Schuetz graduated from Ohio University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Music in Music History and Literature. In 2004 he graduated with a Masters of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Tennessee. In addition to studying with Guy Remonko, Roger Braun, F. Michael Combs, and Keith Brown Mr. Schuetz has studied with major tabla artist, Chandrajit Chartur Lal (Ravi Shankar). Mr. Schuetz is currently teaching percussion at several local schools, including Maryville College, and also teaches privately in Knoxville, TN.
Ms. Saundra Wilson - ColorGuard
Saundra Wilson supports the Red Rebel Band as the Color Guard Instructor and Coordinator, a position she has held since 2002. Ms. Wilson is an alumni of MHS where she was a member of the Red Rebel Band and a Color Guard Captain. Ms. Wilson holds degrees from the University of Tennessee where she was a member and color guard performer, and color guard instructor in the Pride of The Southland Band. Ms.Wilson was a member of the Legend Winter Guard; WGI Independent A Class Finalists in 1995. Ms. Wilson is a Color Guard Judge for marching and indoor contests locally and throughout the Southeast, and is a principle organizer of, and instructor at, the annual MHS Color Guard Clinic.
