Current Museum 1900-1905
/ 2000-2005
DEDICATION
To Mayor Joseph Swann who gave us the idea for
this year’s decades museum. Don’t worry; we
are sure that by the time the students are old enough to
vote, they will no longer blame you.
INTRODUCTION:
You, along with two of your classmates, will immerse yourself
in comparing the start of the 20th century (1900-1905) with
the start of the 21st century (2000-2005), and together,
ultimately, generate a multimedia exhibit on a preselected
topic related to this time period of U.S. history. Each
exhibit will be based on research and "expert"
interviews and will include a brochure, five media components
put together in a museum display, and a decade-appropriate
costume to wear on the days the project is presented. You
will be expected to produce quality work that combines history,
research, interviews, artifacts, displays, multimedia elements,
and opportunities for interactive learning. At the end of
the project, your group will appear to defend your research
before a panel of judges. The museum will then be open one
evening for families, friends, and the community and again
the following school day for all interested classes.
