Decades Timeline for Spring 2005

Jan. 5—Sign up in groups of 4 for topics. One member of each group must meet in Mr. White's room at 3:30 p.m. for the lottery.

Jan. 6—Decades Project Open House for parents in Mr. White's room (331) 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Jan. 7—Report to the library for bibliography search. 20 cards due from each group. Deposit cards in box provided in library no later than library closing time.

Jan. 10 & 12—Report to the library for notetaking. 100 cards due from each group. Deposit cards in box provided in library no later than library closing time.

Week of Jan. 17—Required meeting with advisor; Preliminary plan sheet due

Jan. 18/19—Work on brochure in computer lab: English class on 1/18; U.S. History class on 1/19

Jan. 21—Black and white copy of brochure due (typed in correct and final layout form). Deposit in box provided in Mr. White's room no later than 8:20 a.m.

Week of Jan. 24—Required meeting with advisor; interview expert selected & interview questions completed

Jan. 28—Final, corrected copy of brochure due (ready for printing and the judges). Deposit in box provided in Mr. White's room no later than 8:20 a.m.

Week of Jan. 31—Required meeting with advisor; Open Mind Connection sheet & Revised Plan sheet due

Feb. 7—One expert interview due from each group. Turn in questions, transcript, tapes. Deposit items in box provided in Mr. White's room no later than 8:20 a.m.

Week of Feb. 7—Required meeting with advisor. Umbrella topics due (save to Dropbox).

Feb. 9 & 11—Work on Open Mind Web Page in computer lab

Feb. 16—Completed Open Mind Projects saved to Dropbox. Before exporting, print out a Word document for grading, and place in box provided in Mr. White's room no later than 8:20 a.m.

Feb. 21—Open Mind corrections must be completed

Feb. 27—Set up project in library on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Feb. 28—Finish set-up and add finishing touches during school day. Prepare for interviews with judges.

3:30-5:00 p.m. Interviews of project participants by faculty judges

6:00-8:30 p.m. Evening museum for parents and community viewing.

Your attendance in costume required.

Mar. 1—Museum in library during school day for viewing by MHS classes. You must be in costume and must stay with your project during English and U.S. History classes.

After school, break down projects and take them home. Clean up the library and restore all furniture to order.
