The Works
Cited page appears at the end of the paper and includes only the
secondary sources actually cited in the paper and any primary sources
upon which the paper is based. For example, in a research paper
about Mark Twain's novels, the primary source might be Huckleberry Finn,
and critical studies dealing with Twain's writing would be the secondary
sources. The heading Works Cited should be centered one
inch from the top of the page; then, space before beginning to type your
entries, which are listed together in alphabetical order by the author's
last name or the first major word in the title of a source with no
author. Be sure to double space within and between entries.
When citing two or more books by the same author, give the name in the
first entry only. In the following entries, type three hyphens and
a period in place of the name. |
